The Ten Commandments

The Attributes Of God Almighty: The Lord God leads us to know our sins by His holy law. By the law, we recognize our sins Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.” - Romans 3:20 (NKJV) What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. No, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, You shall not covet.” - Romans 7:7 (NKJV) What is sin?: Whoever commits sin transgresses also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.” - 1. John 3:4 (NKJV) What sin do we know? Hereditary and actual. We have inherited hereditary sin from the first people, from Adam and Eve, from which depends our affection for sin. And the LORD smelled a sweet smell; and the LORD said in his heart, I will not again curse the ground any more for man's sake; for the imagination of man's heart is evil from his youth; neither will I again smite any more every thing living, as I have done.” - Genesis 8:21 (NKJV) And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, you shall not eat of it: for in the day that you eat thereof you shall surely die.” - Genesis 2:16-17 (NKJV) Woe to the world because of offenses! for it must needs be that offenses come; but woe to that man by whom the offense comes!” - Matthew 18:7 (NKJV) What are the consequences of sin? For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” - Romans 6:23 (NKJV) Jesus Christ And The Law: Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill.” - Matthew 5:17 (NKJV) For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death. For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.” - Romans 8:2-4 (NKJV) The 10 commandments: You shall have no other gods before me. You shall not make to you any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. You shall not bow down yourself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD your God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; And showing mercy to thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments. You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that takes his name in vain. Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shall you labor, and do all your work: But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD your God: in it you shall not do any work, you, nor your son, nor your daughter, your manservant, nor your maidservant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger that is within your gates: For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: why the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it. Honor your father and your mother: that your days may be long on the land which the LORD your God gives you. You shall not kill. You shall not commit adultery. You shall not steal. You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor. You shall not covet your neighbor's house, you shall not covet your neighbor's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is your neighbor's. - Exodus 20:3-17 (NKJV) What is the goal of the 10 commandments? To know God's will, what he expects from us and to know our sinful nature. Is law still valid today? Cursed be he that confirms not all the words of this law to do them. And all the people shall say, Amen.” - Deuteronomy 27:26 (NKJV) For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continues not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them.” - Galatians 3:10 (NKJV) Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.” - Romans 3:20 (NKJV) What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid. Know you not, that to whom you yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants you are to whom you obey; whether of sin to death, or of obedience to righteousness?” - Romans 6:15-16 (NKJV) Justified people are not under the law: Know you not, brothers, (for I speak to them that know the law,) how that the law has dominion over a man as long as he lives? For the woman which has an husband is bound by the law to her husband so long as he lives; but if the husband be dead, she is loosed from the law of her husband. So then if, while her husband lives, she be married to another man, she shall be called an adulteress: but if her husband be dead, she is free from that law; so that she is no adulteress, though she be married to another man. Why, my brothers, you also are become dead to the law by the body of Christ; that you should be married to another, even to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit to God. For when we were in the flesh, the motions of sins, which were by the law, did work in our members to bring forth fruit to death. But now we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter.” - Romans 7:1-6 (NKJV)
Law is powerless against sin: For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin. For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I. If then I do that which I would not, I consent to the law that it is good. Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwells in me. For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwells no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not. For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do. Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwells in me.” - Romans 7:14-20 (NKJV) By the law, we recognize: What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. No, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, You shall not covet. But sin, taking occasion by the commandment, worked in me all manner of concupiscence. For without the law sin was dead. For I was alive without the law once: but when the commandment came, sin revived, and I died. And the commandment, which was ordained to life, I found to be to death.” - Romans 7:7-10 (NKJV) Fight against sins: Why putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbor: for we are members one of another. Be you angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down on your wrath: Neither give place to the devil. Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labor, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needs.” - Ephesians 4:25-28 (NKJV) But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatever does make manifest is light. Why he said, Awake you that sleep, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give you light.” - Ephesians 5:13-14 (NKJV) Adam and Christ: Why, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed on all men, for that all have sinned: (For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law. Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come.” - Romans 5:12-14 (NKJV) For if by one man's offense death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)” - Romans 5:17 (NKJV) For as much as you know that you were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:” - 1. Peter 1:18-19 (NKJV) The summary of the law: Master, which is the great commandment in the law? Jesus said to him, You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like to it, You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.” - Matthew 22:36-40 (NKJV) But after that the kindness and love of God our Savior toward man appeared, Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;” - Titus 3:4-5 (NKJV) New human: If so be that you have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus: That you put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; And that you put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.” - Ephesians 4:21-24 (NKJV)

Where? Hand Or Forehead Part 2

In Hebrews 8:10 says For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people. This is clearly a symbol. Which meant engraving God's Law in your actions and in your thoughts. In Exodus 13:9 it says And it shall be for a sign unto thee upon thine hand, and for a memorial between thine eyes, that the Lord’s law may be in thy mouth for with a strong hand hath the Lord brought thee out of Egypt. And in Exodus 13:16 it says And it shall be for a token upon thine hand, and for fron...
